Preparation

Prior to your visiting Wild West Wellness & Thermography following the protocols will prepare you for your visit so that accurate images can be obtained. The protocols include a few simple limitations, as well as restrictions on physical activity the day of your appointment. Please read the instructions early to assure accurate imaging.

UPON ARRIVAL

Please follow these instructions upon arrival,

Arrive approximately 10 minutes prior to your appointment time to complete any paperwork that requires signature or go over any questions you may have. Forms that need to be printed and filled out are provided below.

You will then meet with Becky, a certified thermography technician, who will be taking your thermal images.

ACCLIMATING TO THE ROOM TEMPERATURE

The imaging room has a controlled temperature. You will disrobe (depending on which scan) and relax for 15 minutes, in order for your body to reach a steady temperature state.

During this time it is important that you do not touch your body, conduction is the transfer of heat between substances that are in direct contact with each other. This will effect your images.

You will keep your upper arms away from your armpits to avoid heat conduction.

For those of you with hair below the shoulders, you will be asked to tie the hair back. No hair whispies, you will be provided a headband if needed.

The skin must be at a stable temperature prior to imaging. Please DO NOT TOUCH anywhere on your body during acclimation or imaging. If not, the images may be affected by the transfer of heat from other objects and parts of your body, as the camera is ultra-sensitive.

EXAM BEGINS

After acclimating, you will be positioned in front of the imaging camera so that you get all the images needed for the exam you have chosen.

Breast Exam is 30 minutes

Upper Body is 45 minutes

Full Body is 1 hour

INTERPRETATION

Your images are then sent in a secured format to Dr. Robert Kane, a Board-Certified Clinical Thermologist, who brings more than 30 years of experience reading, interpreting thermal images, and teaching thermography. Once your images are read and interpreted, a full report will be sent to you within approximately 2 weeks of your exam. Just like any other test, routine follow-ups are important to monitor the health of your body, over time. Remember, your follow-up exams are the ones that allow the doctor to compare and identify any changes in your health between scans, and identify the earliest signs of any potential risk for future disease.
